R. Kyle Bourne
Founder and CEO
Kyle Bourne is a senior housing and real estate industry veteran with nearly 20 years of experience in real estate investments, development, asset management, operations, and capital markets. He has directly participated in approximately $2.4 billion of closed transactions and has led investment activities and operations at several companies.
Before launching Unbridled Living, Kyle was the Co-Founder and President of Bourne Financial Group, LLC (“BFG”), a senior housing investment company focused on the development and acquisition of senior housing communities in the United States. Under his leadership from 2014 to 2021, BFG grew to over $900 million in assets under management and developed or acquired 26 senior housing communities in 14 states, totaling over 3,200 beds. Kyle guided BFG’s capital markets team in raising $250 million from investors and facilitated approximately $650 million in debt financing for BFG’s investment activities.
Kyle has a B.B.A. from Baylor University with a concentration in Real Estate and Finance. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and the controlled chaos of parenting their four children. Kyle is also an avid golfer and loves to travel.

Melissa Owens
Chief Operating Officer
Melissa Owens is a dynamic sales and marketing leader with a solid foundation of operations experience in senior living. She is distinguished in her ability to find, develop, and manage sales talent. Throughout her career, she has helped associates identify and follow their career paths through coaching, mentoring, and leadership development. Melissa also has a proven track record of mining data for identification of opportunities and developing strategies to overcome those opportunities.
In recent years, Melissa has held a number of sales and marketing leadership roles – including Divisional Vice President and Senior Vice President – at several Senior Living organizations. Most recently, she served as a Business Development Executive for Volare Health, where she contributed to the team’s performance improvement and portfolio management.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and an MBA from Western Kentucky University. She lives in Crestwood, Kentucky with her husband, Phillip Owens, and children, Elliott, Amelia, and Alistair.

Susan McCormick-Agee
Chief Clinical Officer
Susan brings more than 35 years of nursing experience, with a career built on a deep commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. Over the course of her career, she has practiced across a broad range of specialties, gaining a well-rounded clinical perspective. For the past 20 years, she has focused her expertise on senior living, where she has become a trusted leader in shaping care models that truly serve older adults.
As Chief Clinical Officer, Susan’s mission is clear: to deliver holistic, person-centered care that honors the dignity, individuality, and life story of every senior she serves. She believes that exceptional care goes beyond clinical protocols; it means caring for the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, and creating environments where residents can thrive.
Susan lives in Ohio, where she enjoys spending time outside of work cooking, pursuing her passion for photography, and cycling. She is the proud mother of three grown children – one son and two daughters – and draws inspiration from her own family experiences as she works to ensure every resident and every family feels supported and cared for.

Steve Heeb
Vice President of Human Resources
Steve Heeb brings more than 20 years of executive HR experience in the senior living industry. He partners with operational leaders to build engaged, high-performing teams through strategic talent management, leadership development, employee relations, and organizational culture initiatives.
Throughout his career, Steve has led human resources for multi-state senior living organizations – supporting growth, acquisitions, and organizational transformation while improving retention, strengthening leadership, and fostering exceptional workplace cultures. He holds a Master of Education from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western Kentucky University.

Danny Showalter, CPA
Controller
Danny has oversight of Unbridled Living’s accounting operations and internal controls. He brings over 30 years of accounting experience, including 15 years of experience in senior living accounting leadership roles. He partners closely with executive management to maintain strong financial processes and provide timely, reliable data that guides strategic decision-making.
Danny holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Bellarmine University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Kentucky Society of CPAs. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, exercising, and traveling.

Pearce McGee
Director of Operations
Pearce McGee brings seven years of dedicated senior housing experience, with deep expertise in financial analysis, regulatory compliance, and portfolio management across the full continuum of care.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration and Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with a focus in long-term care.
Pearce’s career began at The Survey Companies, LLC, providing regulatory compliance consulting for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He then spent two and a half years as a Financial Analyst with ALG Senior in Hickory, North Carolina – one of the industry’s largest Medicaid providers – overseeing budgeting, analysis, and strategy for a 42-property portfolio spanning independent living, assisted living, and memory care.
Most recently, as a Senior Financial Analyst with Greenbrier Senior Living in Birmingham, Alabama, Pearce managed investor relations for 19 of 33 properties – spanning independent living, assisted living, memory care, and continuing care retirement communities – and owned annual budgets, forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and investor reporting. He also streamlined internal reporting and partnered with regional directors on labor management.
In all, Pearce has managed 61 assets representing $350 million in assets under management.
Outside of work, Pearce enjoys time with his wife and two daughters, live music, golf, and cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

Patrick Steward
Director of Project Management
Patrick Steward oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of renovation and capital improvement projects throughout the organization’s portfolio of senior living communities.
As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Patrick brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in project management, capital projects, construction, facilities management, and operations across senior living, multifamily housing, military, and nonprofit organizations.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Technology and a Master of Arts in Missiology. He lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife and two sons. Outside of work, he enjoys distance running and endurance sports car racing.
